DCR is a residential remodeling company headquartered Edina, Minnesota. We are perfectionists who build quality dreams, stay within budget, and finish on time. By positioning interior designers as your project managers, we ensure that every last detail will be heard and attended to.
DCR Founder David Dolezal grew up on a horse ranch in Crown, Minnesota. He later joined the United States Air Force civil engineering branch and then worked in the private sector as a lead framer on the construction of multimillion-dollar homes in both La Jolla and Sausalito, California. Returning to Minnesota, the problem solver in David realized that remodeling is just the type of challenge he enjoys. David started DCR in 1990 with the goal of helping clients renovate their homes seamlessly, with quality labor and materials. David still works with the same architect, cement contractor, electrician, HVAC, and plumbers he had when he first began DCR. The carpenters and painters have been with him for nearly two decades now. "We work together like ants to get the job done and done right."
Jessica joined her father in DCR in 2000 as the Office Manager where she quickly organized the office and client files, bringing the company into the 21st century through the use of computer technology. Soon she began visiting the job sites and meeting all of the subcontractors, making material runs and obtaing permits. In 2006, Jessica wanted to see how the rest of construction operated and so she chose to branch out and gain experience with a national homebuilder, and a building material distribution company. Jessica decided (like her father) that remodeling is where her heart is and rejoined DCR in 2013, launching the company anew with the vision of providing unparalleled quality and customer satisfaction.
David has been in the construction/remodeling business for more than 35 years and has found his passion. He enjoys owning a family business and is always looking for new, more modern ideas and creations. David has an aspiration to educate himself and his clients on the up-and-coming technologies and smart options. He feels that a job well done is to see a client's smile during and after the job is completed.
In the mid 2000s, after seeing a need among construction teams for a simple-to-use air ventilator, David launched his second entrepreneurial venture, gaining experience in the entire process involved in the patent process, taking a private company public and marketing products on a global scale. The experience was invaluable and sparked his desire to continue to build companies that had the underlying mission of helping people meet their goals.
Jessica comes from a long line of visionary leaders. Jessica's grandfather, Eldon Hall, developed much of Ramsey, Anoka, and Coon Rapids. She is also a descendant of General Judson Bishop, who led the Minnesota regiment at Gettysburg in 1863. Bishop’s picture is immortalized in the Minnesota State Capital for his contributions to the state. Bishop also served as an engineer for the railroad and later became the editor of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Jessica's true passion lies in residential remodeling; therefore, she chose to return to DCR in 2013. Jessica sincerely enjoys the process of transforming homes and seeing the enjoyment clients experience when their dream home has become a reality. She is dedicated to construct healthy homes and uses natural products whenever possible.
"Projects we remodeled 10 years ago using stone, wood, and other natural products make for a timeless elegance, and the homes look as if they were completed only yesterday!"
